Welcome to the Council on the Ageing (ACT) website. In the Australian Capital Territory, COTA is the peak organisation concerned with all issues related to ageing. It is an independent, non-party political and non-religious organisation working to protect and promote the well-being, rights and interests of all older people in the ACT and their carers, irrespective of socio-economic, ethnic, religious or cultural background. COTA offers a range of services and support options for older people in the ACT community.
As the voice of older Territorians, we have an active membership to keep us informed of issues important to them. COTA members receive a wide range of exclusive benefits through the
COTA Rewards and Savings program including insurance designed specifically for over 50s, two-for-one dining, savings on food shopping, electrical, fuel, retail shopping and leisure activities. Members also access a Wine Club and a Travel Club as well as COTA Home Maintenance Services, for small and large jobs around home. Anyone can join COTA irrespective of their age, background or where they live. For a low annual membership fee, you can become a member and enjoy the benefits of being part of the COTA community.
